indian education for all

hey this is Jon. I found last class to be extremely interesting. i had not given much thought to indian education before. My groups presentation on the pow wow and the rest of the class's presentations made me realize a couple of things. The first thing i learned was that our perception of indian culture and history is not very accurate at times. the second thing i learned was how important the drum and singing were to native americans. i though of a couple of ideas for helping integrate indian education into my classroom. since i am a coaching minor i thought teaching kids lacrosse and where it originated would be fun. i am also a history major and thought having the kids do a powerpoint presentation on their favorite native american tribe. thanks guys see you all thursday

Hi Jon, it's Bonnie. This is my first blog, ever! I liked learning about how important the drum and singing were to the Native Americans, too. The portion of the video that your group showed, with the man saying how important it was to him, was touching and memorable. Regarding your comment about lacrosse, I have a question for you. Is it a sport of Indian origin?
See you Thursday.
